Thank you to all our sponsors and donors:

Hoag

Atama, Brussels Bistro, Elly Harris, EōS Fitness, Everleigh San Clemente, Farmers’ Insurance Lisa Newell Agency, IN-N-OUT Burger, South of Nick’s, Rainbow Sandals, Redmond Orthodontics, Wheenk!

All participants receive a tourney t-shirt and a choice of breakfast or lunch included.

Division champions win prizes courtesy of Rainbow Sandals.

There will be an IN-N-OUT truck at the tournament mid-day so bring your friends and family down to enjoy lunch while they cheer you on!

This year’s tournament features expanded divisions to accommodate more players and allow players to better select the appropriate one in which to play.

Enter as a single player in the “rotating-partner” divisions or as a dedicated doubles team in the “fixed-partner” divisions.

Format

This tournament is round-robin format with traditional side-out scoring. All players are guaranteed a minimum of 7 games. Depending on participation numbers and other factors, some divisions may also have a playoff in which the top 4 teams will play in semifinal matches then either a first-place or third-place match.

In regular round-robin play, there is a time limit of 11 minutes per game, with a four-minute break in between games. Games end either when one team reaches 11 points (win by 1) or if the time limit it reached. For games not concluded at the end of 11 minutes, each team will be awarded however many points it has scored when time runs out.

In the case of playoffs, semifinal matches will have a 12-minute time limit, and both first- and third-place matches will be played out to 11 (win by 2) with no time limit.

You are encouraged to enter in multiple divisions! The tournament is broken into four sessions throughout the day. You can register in one division per session (or up to four divisions total). If you enter more than one division, you will receive a $10 discount for any additional divisions.

Skill Levels

In the fixed-partner mixed, women’s and men’s divisions, there are the following skill-level options:

  • 4.5+ ELITE
  • 4.0-4.5 ADVANCED
  • 3.0-3.5 INTERMEDIATE
  • 3.0 and below NOVICE

Note: The “Family Feud” divisions are also fixed-partner, but will not be broken into different skill levels. This division is strictly a recreational division. Competitive teams — even if they are parent-child teams — are asked to enter more appropriate divisions.

In the rotating-partner women’s and men’s divisions, there are the following skill-level options:

  • 3.0-3.5 INTERMEDIATE
  • 3.0 and below NOVICE

Note: The Co-Ed Junior division (open to players 13-17) is also rotating-partner, but will not be broken into different skill levels.

This is a community- and family-oriented event, and while we expect healthy competition, you’re on the honor system to enter the appropriate division – no “sandbagging.”

Fixed-Partner Divisions

In the fixed-partner divisions, you’ll play with the same dedicated partner for all games. You and your partner both must register individually — make sure to fill out the field on the entry form to let us know who your partner is for any fixed divisions.

  • Fixed Women’s Doubles: Elite (4.5+), Advanced (4.0-4.5), Intermediate (3.0-3.5), Novice (3.0 or below)
  • Fixed Men’s Doubles: Elite (4.5+), Advanced (4.0-4.5), Intermediate (3.0-3.5), Novice (3.0 or below)
  • Fixed Mixed Doubles: Elite (4.5+), Advanced (4.0-4.5), Intermediate (3.0-3.5), Novice (3.0 or below)
  • Fixed “Family Feud” Doubles (no skill-level designation): Mother/Daughter, Mother/Son, Father/Daughter, Father/Son (NOTE: Family Feud divisions are strictly for recreational-play teams. More competitive  parent/child teams — for example a 55-year-old father and a 30-year-old son who are intermediate players —  are asked to join a more appropriate division.)

Rotating-Partner Divisions

Players will register for any rotating-partner division as an individual and will “rotate” to play with a different partner for each game.

  • Rotating Women’s Doubles: Intermediate (3.0-3.5) and Novice (3.0 or below)
  • Rotating Men’s Doubles: Intermediate (3.0-3.5) and Novice (3.0 or below)
  • Rotating Co-Ed Junior’s Doubles (open to all players between 13-17 years or age)

***As registration proceeds, tournament management reserves the option to combine/cancel divisions as needed if divisions do not fill.***

Entry Fee

  • $50 per player for first division entered.
  • $40 per player for each additional division entered.
  • $35 per player – Co-Ed Junior Division

Note: Entry fee includes a tourney t-shirt and your choice of breakfast or lunch.

All entry fees are considered a charitable donation and are non-refundable. Your donation is tax deductible. You will receive a confirmation email that will serve as your receipt for tax purposes. Please check your email spam/junk filter if you don’t see the email.

Medals, Prizes, T-shirts and Meals

  • All division champions (teams in fixed and individuals in rotating) will receive a gift card redeemable for a pair of sandals courtesy of Rainbow Sandals.
  • All participants will receive a Triton Summer Slam t-shirt (we can’t guarantee your preferred size will be available, but we’ll do our best!).
  • All participants will have the option of selecting either a breakfast burrito (with our without meat) or lunch (a ticket to redeem for a hamburger or cheeseburger, chips and a drink at the IN-N-OUT truck that will be on-site at the tournament 11am-1PM).
